The first exercise in this book was used by Claude Gordon to introduce K Tongue Modified tonguing. The exercises that follow are from moderate to advanced level flexibility studies. The end of the book contains various awkward phrases Claude experienced of his career. These phrases are to be played chromatically in all keys and used similar to the material in Claude's Thirty Velocity Studies book.

Currently the Bass Clef edition is out of print. However, we are able to maintain a limited stock of this book.

Read what great artists say about Claude's teaching and books.

This thin little book is a brief daily scale and arpeggio and tonguing routine used by Clarke. It is also valuable for the notes in the introduction that show how Herbert L. Clarke and Claude Gordon taught exactly the same thing.

This book is something everyone should have that owns the Charlier Etude book. I would buy the book if the only thing it had were the arrangement of the second etude. It is beautiful and shows how etudes can be something anyone would enjoy hearing.

This is a full-sized method book with 325 pages of exercises, etudes, duets, trios, quartets, solos, and valuable information. Sadly, not many teachers use it now like in the past. Everyone should have this in their library and use it.

This book of twenty-four contemporary etudes is unique in all the various things asked of the player. It is both technical and musical with the style and sound being like that of Tomasi and other similar French composers of that era.
