In June of 2013 the trumpet version of the Arban Method that was published by Carl Fischer was changed, eliminating the valuable annotations by Claude Gordon and changing the layout and pages in the book where various sections start. The page numbers are known by many players and teachers since the pages were done in the 1890s or earlier. The 1982 edition is what I will primarily be selling here as I locate more inventory.

When possible I will stock the version which includes English, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese text, otherwise I will stock the new Platinum Edition that comes with a CD with the piano accompaniment to the solos at the end of the book.

The Arban Method is one of the first two complete cornet methods written and is still in use today by all professionals and students on all the brass instruments. Saint Jacome's Method was also written at the same time and is an essential complimentary book. The Arban Method is arranged in a topical manner to easily find material. This particular edition is unique in that Claude Gordon restored the original text of Arban and made annotations indicating who said what among the previous editors. It is essential to understand the original meaning behind any book and Claude Gordon assisted in accomplishing that.

The trombone, euphonium and tuba versions of this book are the complete versions of Arban with the duets, 150 melodies, characterstic studies and solos missing from the other previous versions of this great book. This amounts to more than 100 additional pages of valuable material. These versions also contain interesting commentary from world class artists and experts such as Joseph Alessi, Dr. Brian Bowman, Dr. Jerry Young, and Wesley Jacobs.
