Online Trumpet Lessons

Jeff Purtle's studio is located in Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to teaching in person, Jeff teaches online trumpet lessons over live video chat using a webcam. Jeff has been teaching privately since 1984 and has been teaching online trumpet lessons and online brass lessons since 2005.

Studying online has many advantages over in person private lessons. It is possible for the student to get instruction from a unique teacher without driving or flying to the lesson. No money is spent on expensive gasoline. No time is spent driving to or from the lesson. No lesson time is used for unpacking or packing the student's instrument. No lesson time is used for walking in and out of the studio. It is more convenient with more scheduling options. It is easier to study regularly and students are able to continue to study when traveling on business or vacation. The sound and video quality are excellent. It is possible for the student to be looked at in closer detail without the awkwardness of the teacher getting "in your face." Correspondence by email and instant messenger allows for even more clarification.

Another option for students are Crash Course Lessons. The student comes for a weekend, a full-day or a half-day of lessons and then leaves with specific assignments. Regular contact helps keep the student accountable and prevents the student from practicing bad habits for an extended period of time.
